Often the best place to start is simply a coffee.

If someone has suggested that we should speak, or something on this website feels familiar, get in touch. The first conversation is informal and focused on you and your business.

I will usually start by asking why you started the business and hearing the story of how you got to where you are today. From there, we can talk about what is going well, what is becoming harder and where you would like the business to go next.

As we talk, I will start getting under the skin of the business, asking questions, sharing relevant experience and thinking with you about the opportunities, challenges and possible routes forward.

The aim is simply to have a useful conversation.

You do not need to prepare a presentation or arrive with all the answers.

Ideally, you leave with a clearer view of what matters most, some things worth thinking about and a sense of whether having me alongside you would be useful.

Face-to-face where possible.

I predominantly work with business owners in Central Scotland because spending time together, face-to-face, is an important part of how I work.

Being inside the business helps me understand the people, the culture and what is really happening beyond the numbers.

Some of the most important conversations are difficult. Being in the room means I can read body language, pick up on hesitation and ask the extra question that helps us get to the heart of an issue. These are things that can easily be missed on a video call.

The better I understand your world, the more useful I can be.

Arrange a conversation

Tell me a little about your business and what prompted you to get in touch. I'll take it from there.
